Greetings from the Saddle Diva:
New tack is too expensive (and as a horse owner and tack addict, every penny counts). I sell incredible, nice used tack; better quality than new.
I turn down 75% of the saddles I see. When I buy a saddle, my saddlers check it for safety. If it’s not safe, I strip off the fenders and stirrups and give it to someone who makes bar stools out of it.
The market is now flooded with cheap imports, with flimsy saddle trees already cracked. A saddle made in the U.S.A. 15 or 20 years ago, if well maintained, is a better saddle than one made recently, even by the same company. Western saddles are made in the U.S.A., while our English saddles are all imported. Few American companies make English saddles that pass my requirements.
Let’s talk about your saddle needs. Please email me at thesaddlediva@aol.com.
